5 Questions with Aligned Speaker Veronica Cano from OluKai

The Aligned Conference is coming up and we’re kicking off our speaker series with Veronica Cano, Go To Market Manager at OluKai. At Aligned 2018, Veronica will speak to our brand marketers and sales rep audience about how OluKai helps their retailers catch and keep consumer attention as they craft unique in-store shopper experiences.

OluKai Veronica Cano MarketingIn her session entitled “You’re Invited, Maximizing In-Store Events,” attendees will dig deeper into the shift of consumer demand for experience and explore various ways that brands can support wholesale partners in maximizing in-store events. Included in this session will be real-life examples of OluKai in-store events and marketing tactics.

Veronica has helped develop OluKai’s retail marketing team and roll out industry-leading in-store tools as she continues to help innovate the brand at the retail level. Her team is responsible for all wholesale marketing efforts. Cano works closely with the sales and rep teams to continue to help them adapt to the changing landscape of retail while utilizing experiential events and consumer experiences to increase awareness of the OluKai brand and support their retailers’ businesses.

Why are local retailers important to telling the OluKai story?

Veronica: Many of our customers are introduced to and learn about our brand through their local retailers. It’s important for our local retailers to be educated about the latest and greatest products and campaigns because they are truly an extension of our brand. One of the reasons OluKai has been able to continue to see consistent growth over the years is because we have some of the best local retail partners who love our brand and are excited about telling the OluKai story.

What do you see as the future of retail marketing?

Veronica: The future of retail will continue to shift consumer experiences into the brick and mortar retailers who are using digital marketing to promote their business and the brands they sell. Brands and retailers will need to embrace the exciting challenge of generating meaningful content that will drive customers into local stores.

What are you most excited for at this year’s Aligned Conference?

Veronica: I am excited to hear all the other speakers and just to soak in all I can and learn from everyone I meet!  

What was the best career advice you were given or personal motto you live by?

Veronica: ‘Anyone can do good work, how are you going to do great work?’ Ever since I first heard this it became my personal motto. Keeping that commitment to doing GREAT work pushed me to be the best marketer and an expert in what I do. Producing great work is hard to do but hope that our great work makes a difference and shares something with the next generation of marketers.

Who is your favorite local retailer?

Veronica: All local retailers who carry OluKai are my favorite. 🙂
