Faces of Promoboxx: Meet Ali Cassis

Meet Promoboxx’s new Senior Brand Account Manager, Ali Cassis! We are so excited to welcome Ali to our team, and to get to know her better, we asked her a few questions. Check out her answers below!

Tell us a little bit about yourself.

I am the youngest of three girls and have lived in Boston almost my whole life (except for one year when I lived in New York City). I graduated from Boston College with a degree in communications. Before Promoboxx, I worked in both sales and marketing. I was at Rue La La for five years and Lose It! for one year prior to joining the Promoboxx team.

What made you want to join the Promoboxx team?

I was very inspired by the people I met and the company values and mission.

What’s your favorite independent business in Boston?

I love both Ku de Ta and Pretty Reckless in my neighborhood of Southie. I love that I can always find some really different pieces in each boutique and not break the bank!

Deserted on an island, what three things do you bring?

  1. A family member or friend
  2. A book
  3. A tool of some sort

Best advice you’ve ever been given?

“If you are going to do something, do it right.” – My Father.

When I was in elementary school, my dad would always get out the ruler and pencil before I was allowed to start a simple project. I didn’t completely understand what he meant at the time… I would tell him that it wasn’t that important, and he would respond with some iteration of, “If it’s worth doing at all, it’s worth doing right.” This is something I have carried with me throughout my life. Any time I think about cutting a corner, I’ll hear these words in the back of my head and make sure to do it right.

Best book you’ve ever read?

My favorite book is Gone, Baby, Gone by Dennis Lehane. The movie definitely didn’t do the book justice on this one. I love all of Dennis Lehane’s books but this one in particular. It is part of a series that follows two Boston private investigators solving different crimes around the city. His books are extremely well-written and very suspenseful.

What is one of your favorite things to do in Boston?

Summer in Boston is my favorite time of year, particularly because I love eating seafood outside as much as possible. A friend and I have a bucket list to eat all of the dollar oysters we can around the city this summer.
