Last year marked the first ever Aligned Conference – its origins simple: the serious need for a cross-industry event focusing on developing marketing alignment between manufacturing brands and independent retailers.
The first Aligned conference turned out to be everything retail marketers had envisioned and more. A sense of unity spread among attendees who have since identified themselves as part of the new “Aligned Community,” commenting:

The challenge to create and maintain alignment with independent retailers is present among manufacturing brands in all industries, but the strategies that they chose to implement vary. Aligned allows attendees to hear how other verticals work with their independents to market their products, as well as share unique areas of success with one another. These insights served as a breath of fresh air for many attendees who previously might have been tunnel visioned in their industry approach.

Outside of the speaker sessions, attendees networked and spoke candidly on personal and professional challenges in the retail marketing space. We also set sail in the Boston Harbor onboard the Valiance for a night of fun on a Yacht Rock Harbor Cruise!
We wrapped up with the first Aligned Awards Ceremony, recognizing the best co-marketing campaigns. These digital marketing efforts most effectively connect brands with retailers, as voted by Aligned Conference attendees. Jeremy McKinley, Global Retail Marketing and Training Manager for Trek Bicycle, took home the glory for the company’s outstanding Trek’s Summer Sale campaign.
