Yesterday, one of Boston’s most beloved sports heroes and Patriots’ QB, Tom Brady, gave his brand new red 2015 Chevy Colorado that he received after being named Superbowl MVP to his teammate Malcolm Butler, who was responsible for the game-winning interception in the last seconds of the fourth quarter.
Okay, so maybe we have some favoritism towards Boston, but what Tom Brady did yesterday was pretty damn cool and commendable. Tom Brady’s mentality as the Patriots captain is the pinnacle of one of our company pillars and what this town stands for: support each other. Although he was named the most valuable player of Superbowl XLIX, Brady recognized that he wouldn’t be holding up the Vince Lombardi Trophy for the fourth time without the contributions of his teammates – most notably Malcolm Butler’s Superbowl winning interception. Butler humbly accepted the Chevy truck from his quarterback.
It’s no surprise to us that Chevrolet happily complied with Brady’s request to handover the keys to Butler, who had previously bought his first car, a Chevy SUV that he purchased for $8,000, after signing with the Patriots. Throughout our 3 years working with Chevrolet (whose first campaign on Promoboxx was Superbowl focused in 2012), the company has demonstrated an outstanding “team mentality” with their dealers, supporting them with digital marketing content and sharing with them the rewards that come with retailer alignment. Check out just a few Chevy retailers’ posts on Facebook and Twitter today about the transfer of Chevy keys between Brady and Butler:
Here’s a perfect example of 1 + 1 = 3. When all forces come together, the results are greater than what each partner could accomplish alone. Hats off to the Patriots and Chevrolet – you represent everything that Boston stands for.
