Meet Promoboxx’s new Brand Account Specialist, Steph Marr! We are so excited to welcome Steph to our team, and to get to know her better, we asked her a few questions. Check out her answers below!
I graduated in 2010 from Boston College with a degree in Communications and Theatre. After graduating, I moved to NYC where I worked at Viacom in Ad Sales and Integrated Marketing for their entertainment networks (Comedy Central, Spike and TV Land). I left NYC in 2013 and traveled through Europe for a few months (quarter-life crisis, if you will). When I returned, I worked as a nanny in the Philadelphia area for a year. In January 2015, I moved back up to Boston, working at WGBH as a Marketing Manager for their National Corporate Sponsorship Group. And now, I’m starting up at Promoboxx as a Brand Account Specialist! Loving it so far.
I was put in touch with Taylor (Promoboxx’s own Senior Brand Account Manager) through a mutual friend, and I could just tell through chatting with her how much she loves what she does and who she works with. Company culture is HUGE for me, so I was really excited by the idea of jumping into a fun, hungry and super motivated team. I also think the product/platform itself is super interesting and innovative, and I immediately wanted to learn more about it.
American Provisions in Southie – a lot of their stuff is locally sourced and the people that work there are super friendly and knowledgeable. And it’s conveniently close to my apartment!
I feel like it’s really hard to say which one is the BEST, but I recently read The Good Spy, by Kai Bird, and it was intense and interesting. I also love Malcolm Gladwell’s books because they’ve made me think from a different perspective. And growing up, I was super religious about Harry Potter.
Attending any sort of sporting event.
I used to be a competitive Irish step dancer. I use the word competitive loosely, as I attended competitions but never actually won anything. Unfortunately, I’ve forgotten all the dance moves and techniques, so I would not be able to share this “talent” with you all.
I’m learning to enjoy the *art* of cooking, and I love to travel whenever I can afford to do so. I also, randomly, love to paint/color as a way to de-stress.
