Mohawk Flooring is a leading global flooring manufacturer. During the past decade, Mohawk has transformed its business from an American carpet manufacturer into the world’s largest flooring company with operations in Australia, Brazil, Canada, China, Europe, India, Malaysia, Mexico, Russia, and the United States.
Mollie joined Mohawk in 2013, and in her role, she leads a team of talented associates in public relations, cause marketing, and content development for key communication channels.
She’ll be drawing on this passion for strengthening brands through strategic and creative marketing communications for her Aligned session, “Driving Marketing Relevance.”
Can you speak to the importance of aligning local retailers to the national brand messaging?
Local retail is grassroots, exciting and a place where you can see the true transactional results of good marketing. Aligning retailers with national brand messaging allows for greater reach, of course, for the national brand, but it also empowers the local retailer to make the message come to life in that respective local market.
How does Mohawk Flooring empower its retailers?
Here on the Mohawk Marketing team, everything we do, we do it with the success of the retailer in mind. If our valued retail partners are successful, we are successful. We empower our retailers with best-in-class solutions, programs and tools as well as the training to put the solutions into motion.
Best career advice you were given or personal motto you live by?
Mohawk’s president, Brian Carson, has a passion for training young leaders. He gives the advice, “Be patient, but not too patient. You hold the keys to your career.” As a young woman and working mother in a dynamic corporate environment, the advice motivates me to dream big.

Who is your favorite local retailer?
My favorite local retailer is a little shop here in Calhoun, Ga. called 365 on Piedmont. The personalized customer service, beautiful merchandise and willingness to do anything to make my life easier is so appreciated — and rare.
