I will be graduating from Simmons College in May with a BA in Communications/Graphic Design, and a minor in Entrepreneurship. Before this internship I also interned at Gateways Community Services in Nashua, NH, and Harvard Medical School Center For Primary Care.

What made you want to join the Promoboxx team?

I knew Emma Bisogno from Simmons, and have only heard great things about her Promoboxx experience, as well as from other past Simmons interns. The opportunity to learn from such an innovative team was one that I just couldn’t pass up!

What’s your favorite independent business in Boston?

Il Mondo Pizzeria – their buffalo chicken pizza is simply amazing.

Deserted on an island, what three things do you bring?

Colored pencils and a big sketchbook for endless drawing, and popcorn (aka the best snack ever).

Best advice you’ve ever been given?

“Always give 110%.” It’s a simple concept, but I have found that they are truly words to live by. Determination will take you wherever you need to go.

Do you have any hobbies?

Yes, I fill all of my free time with art-related activities: drawing, painting, videography, photography, up-cycling yardsale finds, you name it!

Allison Saffiotti, Retail Activation Manager

Allison Saffiotti, Retail Activation Intern

I am a junior at Simmons College pursuing a dual major in business management and marketing with a minor in public relations. Currently I serve as co-president of the Public Relations Student Society of America (PRSSA) where we are in the process of planning our annual networking trip to NYC!

What made you want to join the Promoboxx team?

I first found out about Promoboxx during my sophomore year in my Intro to PR course. My professor, Andrew Porter, had guest speakers in his class and Emma from Promoboxx was one of them. It was during her presentation I became interested in the platform and thought it was an innovative concept. The unique company culture is an added bonus too as it really is  a welcoming and team-oriented environment.

What’s your favorite independent business in Boston?

There is a small family-owned frozen yogurt/restaurant down the street from my school called Hidyans. They have the best fro-yo (my favorite) and best of all they deliver!

Deserted on an island, what three things do you bring?

Tanning oil, a pair of Ray-Bans and a beach chair – I’ll take the warm weather however I can get it after this winter!

Best advice you’ve ever been given?

Throughout my time as a Simmons student I’ve learned how important it is to take risks. I’ve truly discovered that you learn the most about yourself when overcoming the things that intimidate you.

What do you admire most in a brand?

A brand that can build strong customer loyalty. With all of the options consumers have these days, this cannot be achieved solely by a stand-out product, but by how they interact and communicate with customers.

What is one of your favorite things to do in Boston?

Every year I go to the tree lighting in Faneuil Hall, its a tradition my friends and I have kept since our first year and one that I hope we are able to keep for years to come.

Tell us a little bit about yourself:

I am a senior at Brandeis University, graduating with a BA in International and Global Studies, Anthropology, and Politics. I love learning about different kinds of cultures, and the way people think and interact. I also enjoy studying Politics for some odd reason. Although Brandeis does not offer a communications major, I have always been interested in marketing, public relations, and event planning. I am a very social person and felt that this career path would be one where I would never get bored and would always be surrounded by interesting and creative people. From an online pet pharmacy to a coffee house in Copenhagen, I have had a number of marketing and PR internships in many different kinds of settings. I love new experiences, and I hope to be able to fit traveling into my career path somehow!

What made you want to join the Promoboxx team?

I was looking for an internship at a company that works with a variety of brands or an internship in digital marketing because I have not had much experience with that yet. When I came across Promoboxx, I found both! The more I looked into Promoboxx as a company, the more I wanted to have a chance to be part of what they do. They really embody their values in all aspects of their work.  Plus, working for a company that is so genuine and that takes a fresh approach to digital marketing is very appealing.

What’s your favorite independent business in Boston?

Gourmet Pottery on Moody St. in Waltham. It’s a cute little gift shop near my school that has a lot of room decorations, cards, jewelry and other trinkets. The owner is also a very sweet woman so I love coming in to look around whenever I’m nearby.

Deserted on an island, what three things do you bring?

My chihuahua (Mikey), my laptop (that somehow would magically works on this island), and a giant jar of Nutella.

Best advice you’ve ever been given?

To be happy. I know it seems so simple, but sometimes I forget that life is about doing what you love and trying to enjoy it as much as you can. Reminding myself to be happy, in most situations, usually makes me come to the right decisions and avoid negativity.

What is one of your favorite things to do in Boston?

Eat. Boston has so many wonderful restaurants and I love discovering new places with delicious food!

What do you admire most in a brand?

I admire a brand that is genuine and has a purpose beyond making profit off of merchandise. I love brands that really care about their consumers and also do their part in giving back.

What is something that not many people know about you?

Although I am born and raised in Miami, I don’t know how to swim. Embarrassing… I know.

A big thanks to our awesome new interns for entertaining all of our questions!
