Meet Promoboxx’s new Executive Vice President of Sales, Barth Getto! We are so excited to welcome Barth to our team, and to get to know him better, we asked him a few questions. Check out his answers below!

Tell us a little bit about yourself.

I was an exchange student in Brazil during high school. I lived in Americana, Sao Paulo and attended John F. Kennedy High School. So much for leaving all aspects of the “States” behind. I then studied in Nice, France through a Penn State study abroad program. The Riviera and a 21-year-old are a dangerous combination!

My first job out of college was with an old, established brand – Armstrong World Industries. We were bought by Shaw Industries in 1989. Who knew that the Shaw relationship would come full circle, since they are a valued Promoboxx partner?

After spending several more years as a floor covering account representative (helping flooring retailers grow their sale), I joined to CCA Global Partners, the largest cooperative in the flooring industry. I spent over 20 years there helping grow the membership of brands like, Carpet One, Flooring America and the International Design Guild.

My final stint with CCA Global was running the BizUnite division. We helped independent retailers save money on the operational expenses they consumed regularly.

So, looking back, the common themes of my career have always involved growing brands and helping independent retailers. No wonder I am so thrilled to be working with both brands and retailers here at Promoboxx. I guess it was just meant to be!

What made you want to join the Promoboxx team?

I previously worked with three of Promoboxx’s founders (Ben Carcio, Sonciary Honnoll, and Dan Koziak) at another company. Over the years, I watched as they grew Promoboxx into a vibrant entity. I just had to join the fun!

What’s your favorite independent business in Boston?

Limoncello Restaurant in the North End for great Italian food and Polcari’s Market for the sights and smells of my grandmother Domenica’s kitchen!

Deserted on an island, what three things do you bring?

  1. Fire starter
  2. Cast net for fishing
  3. A boat for when I get tired of eating cooked fish

Best advice you’ve ever been given?

“Be nice to people, and they will be nice to you.” – From the aforementioned grandmother.

What do you admire most in a brand?

Innovation and connecting with their customer base in emotional and creative ways.

Do you have any hobbies?

Too many…triathlons, woodworking, gardening, hunting, fishing, skiing, hiking, golfing, cooking and bowling.

What is something that not many people know about you?

I am an open book. Everyone knows everything if they want to or not. 🙂
