he other night, I went to one of my favorite local shops to buy some gift wrap. They had closed early for the day, so instead, I stopped by CVS on my way home. Check out the size of this receipt… for a single roll of wrapping paper!
This was such a simple, passing moment. But, it reminded me once again why I shop locally. Local stores are often conscious of resources and the environmental impact they have, and most will automatically give you the option of an emailed receipt, or even no receipt at all.
It’s the small, everyday things like this that make me appreciate independent retailers. They care about our community and doing their part to protect it — while also giving me a better, more personal shopping experience than “the big guys.”
